I just bought the house and don't know anything about the unit. Anyone know how to fix this? Its a Genie Intellicode Chainglide System. Its a new opener. I just purchased it. Genie garage door opener stops like sensitivity needs adjusting.? The opener is at least 7 years old. Worked fine until this summer - it would stop on occassion anywhere on the track. I adj the sensitivity (a little less senitive) and lubed everything and all was fine. I checked the track and pulled the door open/closed by hand all good. Now, it starts and stops after only moving 6" from open or closed position. It seems to run a little slower too. The beam is not obstucted. The screw and carrage look good too. Solutions?

how do you program the "clicker" remote to a genie intellicode garage door opener?? the instructions for the clicker tell me to match the codes from one remote to the other, but the genie intellicode remote does not have "codes" and neither does the actual garage door opener or the wall mount have one. whta do i do? the instructions for the clicker (by clicker i mean "clicker" - the UNIVERSAL REMOTE - not the remote that comes with the garage door opener) tell me to match the codes from one remote to the other, but the genie intellicode remote does not have "codes" and neither does the actual garage door opener or the wall mount have one. whta do i do?

I am having a problem with a genie garage door opener.? It goes down a foot then goes up again. It has been lubed recently and is not making any unusual noises. The STB beam seems to be properly aligned. Is it the gear box or the motor? Or What? I have adjusted the close and open force knobs all the way to the right and it still does not fix the problem.

Malfunctioning Genie Garage Door Closer/Opener? My sister used the roller tract of an old style chain driven Genie Garage Door Opener as a coat hanger during a garage sale. She forgot to remove the hangers before closing the door. She removed the coat hangers after the door would not close and then the door closed. The next time the closer/opener was activated to open the door, it worked. When we went to close the door the next time, it would only close about 1/3 of the way before hanging up. I discovered one of the rollers had come out of the tract on the side where the coat hangers were hung. I was able to place the roller back in but now the door opener/closer has trouble opening and closing the door without assistance. The last 1/3 going up and the first 1/3 going down is not a problem. The other 2/3 up and down needs assistance. The tracts look ok. The rollers look ok. I lubricated the door hinges and the roller shafts but the problem remains. The track does not appear to be misaligned. Any ideas would be welcome. Would a very slight misalignment that I don't see cause this? This is an old style opener (before 1995) and we have made an investment of 5 additional remotes for this garage door opener/closer for various family members to use. If we can fix the problem without a lot of expense, we would like to try and fix it rather than buying new. We do not plan on having the home much longer. Again, we welcome your suggestions and thank you in advance for any advise you offer.
Old Genie garage door opener......? I recently purchased a condo and the garage door open is a Genie brand. It is very old. The previous homeowners put on what looks like an extension of some sort to allow the use of a remote. I am unable to get the remote from the previous owners. I noticed the attatchement has 9 switch codes. So, I bought a craftsman remote with the 9 switch codes. Doesn't work. The extension says, "Allstar" on it. Any ideas on how I can get a remote to work?
Why did the Genie garage door opener decide I was an alcoholic? So I was getting ready to install the new garage door opener, and I opened the box and pulled out the instructions. The first thing it said was "You need a screwdriver", and I thought , well, yeah, probably if I am going to do all this work, so I went in and fixed myself a screwdriver. I went back out to the garage and looked at the instructions again, and it said "You need a screwdriver", so , hey, why not. I had another screwdriver, but after the fourth or fifth time of reading these instructions, I didn't want to put in that dang garage door opener anymore. Now , what I want to know is this. Why do they make instructions like that? I remember that trick Proctor and Gamble played on me with "Shampoo, Rinse, Repeat" dangit, I was in the shower for three days. What do you think?
Genie Power Max Garage Door Opener? I have to take the remote off the visor and hold it up to the windshield everytime I open the door. It's the same thing using either remote with freash batteries. Is there a way to fix it or do I just need to buy a better opener? What manufacture?
genie garage door will open but you have to hold the button for it to shut. whats wrong? the garage door opener is about 3 years old, it will open fine with the remote and the wall button, but when closing, it only works with the wall button (and you have to hold it untill it goes all the way down.) which is a pain in the A@@ because you have to back from your car out go through the front door to close it and go all the way back around outside. i dont have any money to buy a new one. ( oh and ive already bought and installed new electronic eyes) didnt work. does anyone know whats wrong?
Garage Door Opener malfunction? Why does my garage door bounce back up as soon as it hits the cement floor. I have a Genie Door Opener and have to manually stop the door in the closed position to keep the door down. It is driving me nuts. I have adjusted the tension on the unit with no results.
Garage door opener question? I have the same brand garage door opener (Genie) as my neighbor, whose garage is adjacent to my own. Often, when I am driving up and I hit my button, it opens her garage door (and vice versa), posing a security risk and causing a big hassle in general, trying to get them to open and/or close as I need them to do. Does anyone know if getting a different brand of garage door opener would solve the problem? I have tried getting a new remote opener and reprogramming the one I already had and none of this has worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks. The door opener otherwise works as it should.
